Asscher Cut
A square step cut with clipped corners and a concentric “hall of mirrors” pattern. This page is the short version.
What you need to know on this site
Asscher is the square cousin of the emerald cut. Broad facets show the interior, so inclusions, windowing and pattern balance matter more than they do on a round brilliant. Length-to-width near 1.00 looks classically square; anything much above ~1.05 starts reading as a short emerald.
Do not copy a round-brilliant shopping formula. There is no GIA cut grade for Asscher. You grade the outline, the concentric pattern, and the video.
